Postponement of the Conference “PolyMerTec 2020” and 17th Conference “Deformation and Fracture Behaviour of Polymers”

The worldwide progression of the COVID-19 pandemic is increasingly affecting public and private life. An assessment of the future development and the hopefully imminent weakening of the situation cannot be seriously made at present.

Under these circumstances, it is not possible to suitably organise and safely conduct the PolyMerTec 2020 conference, which is held together with the 17th conference “Deformation and Fracture Behaviour of Polymers” on the university campus in Merseburg in June. Thus, a safe arrival and general planning reliability of the participants is, especially from the particularly affected countries, not given.

For this reason, the chairpersons of the conference – Prof. Dr. Beate Langer and Prof. Dr. Peter Michel – has decided to postpone both events until 2021.

The conference will now take place from 9 June to 11 June 2021.

All registrations and bookings of exhibitors remain valid. Cancellations are possible without complications if necessary. Similarly, payments already made will be refunded in the event of cancellation.

We are particularly pleased that the financial support provided by the DFG for foreign participants will also be valid for the year 2021.

We are looking forward to an interesting and exciting conference in 2021 and until then, stay healthy!
